I wasn't quite sure what category to classify this photograph as. I hope Closeups is the right one.
My style's been changing a bit lately, I think. I used to love bright, sharp, colourful images; this clearly isn't one of them. Is this change for the better or the worse? Haven't a clue myself, but I'm going with the flow.
Taken at Delifrance. This girl was alone, perhaps waiting for a late friend, but she didn't look like it--no checking of the watch, no phone calls. She didn't order anything, either--just sat there reading the newspaper with a straight back while my friends and I dipped French bread in minestrone soup.
I actually quite like this photo. There's a bit of mystery to it. But it could be a bit stronger if you could see a bit more of the empty stool on the left.

Hrrrmmmm. It is a bit cropped, but I didn't crop out the left side of the photo; I just had to fix the angle a bit.
Hrrmmm. Darn, I don't have any more of that empty stool. Oh well, thanks anyway! I also kind of wish that chair in the corner wasn't there But if I'd gone up and moved it out of the way, she would have noticed me.
